Ranges from Saldanha Bay to just north of East London (Ref. 5578). Stock sound; not sought after but easily caught by recreational fishers (Ref. 4332). Caught by trawlers (Ref. 5578). Edible, but only a few ever reach the market as most are dumped as trash (Ref. 12484). Also Ref. 5510, 33390.
